Ideas from the last meeting of “Friends of the West End Park”
Vision: What We Would Like to See Happen
1. “Free” Market- people can set up booths where you exchange or give away things for
free
2. Indie Craft Show
3. Food Festival/ Contest
4. Community Garden (fenced) to grow food
5. Screen on the Green (showing movies at the park)
6. Improved and expanded playground
7. Age based play groups
8. Art and Book Festival
9. Planting Flowers
10. Fix Sidewalks (Historic…contact Public Works)
11. Encourage cars to not drive on lawn of park
12. Engage youth with activities (ex. Basketball/ Tennis tournament, Community
Baseball game)
13. Jobs for youth and homeless
14. Senior Activities
15. Park Watch
16. Emergency phone for park
17. Tennis Lessons
18. T-shirt (marketing/fundraiser)
19. Engage local schools
20. Spontaneous Events
21. April-Oct. Park inspection every 6 weeks
