JUMP ROPE CLASS CANCELLED! July 3, 2009
Greetings, Jumpropers!
It looks like we’ve made it through half of the summer, and the heat has not defeated us yet! Recent jumprope classes have gone really well; the temperature has been < 90 degrees so far.
Jumprope class will be cancelled for the next two weeks (July 4th and July 11th), but we will resume on July 18th at 10:00 a.m.
Peace,
Beth McBee
JUMP-ROPE CLASS-CANCELLED 5/9/09 May 5, 2009
Hi, jumprope fans!
Unfortunately, we will not have jumprope in the park this Saturday, 5/9/09. I hope you will all join me the NEXT weekend, on 5/16. Please keep in mind that class starts at 10:00 a.m. If no one shows at 10, I will only hang around until 10:10, or 10:15 (if I’m feeling really nice!), so try to make it on time! Many of you were present when we tried something new: “card deck strength training”. It was a lot of fun…and a lot of work…and we plan to do it again soon, so come check it out! I hope that you all are doing well and staying fit!
Peace, beth

New to the park…
Saturdays @ 8am-Free TAI CHI CHUAN
Starting January 10, 2009
Tai Chi Chuan
The Chinese characters for Tai Chi Chuan can be translated as the ‘Supreme Ultimate Force’. The notion of ‘supreme ultimate’ is often associated with the Chinese concept of yin-yang, the notion that one can see a dynamic duality (male/female, active/passive, dark/light, forceful/yielding, etc.) in all things. ‘Force’ (or, more literally, ‘fist’) can be thought of here as the means or way of achieving this ying-yang, or ‘supreme-ultimate’ discipline.
