RE-DEVELOPING UNUSED STRIP MALLS October 2, 2009

Macro-Sea is considering re-developing old, un-used strip malls. So, what better place to start this innovative approach to development than Atlanta? The company (which is NY-based) has worked on several project but is now venturing into reviving places where otherwise life-less buildings would sit lonely and grey.

Take a look at their projects: http://www.macro-sea.com. Very inspirational!

SIDEWALKS NOT PEDESTRIAN-FRIENDLY! June 1, 2009

Does this look familiar, Atlanta?

Promote pedestrian communities, go to the PEDS website below and learn how you can help Atlanta become a more pedestrian/bike-friendly city.

One of my earliest memories of moving to Atlanta was going to pick up my son from school. I grabbed my stroller, strapped-in the baby and started walking…I went a block when I realized ‘walking in Atlanta’ can be a bad idea. The sidewalks were broken and they’d end abruptly. It was crazy. I ended up at a gas station on Glenwood Avenue waiting for a ride. This is an issue that must be addressed: http://www.peds.org.
